Welcome to the BOOK OF BL⚀CKS initiative. This program represents a strategic investment in both our community's environmental health and the personal development of its residents. It is designed to transform required service hours into a dynamic, skill-building apprenticeship in sustainable agriculture and conservation. This manual will equip you, as a new Bl⚀cksmith, with the philosophy, tools, and best practices necessary to effectively guide participants, facilitate their learning journey, and drive meaningful community transformation in Glendale.

The BOOK OF BL⚀CKS program is specifically designed to serve a diverse group of individuals within the Glendale community. A key part of your role is to support these individuals in meeting their 80-hour SNAP work requirement through engaging, hands-on activities. Our primary participants include:

  • Glendale residents
  • Community Service Volunteers
  • SNAP Work Participants
  • Able-Bodied Adults Without Dependents (ABAWDs)
