Founder Story

Built through perseverance, purpose, and the decision to keep going—even when the road changed.

LC Career Center was not built from theory. It was built from lived experience, long seasons of responsibility, and a deep belief that learning can create real movement in people’s lives.

My story began long before the business became a brand. It began with family, work, education, sacrifice, and the determination to build something that could outlast hardship and serve a larger purpose.

Built from perseverance. Guided by purpose. Designed to turn real-life experience into work that helps others move forward.

A brief audio introduction to the story, purpose, and journey behind LC Career Center.

“My journey taught me how to survive. My work is about helping others thrive.”

That line has become one of the clearest ways to describe both the founder story and the mission behind the work.

Chapter 01

Where it started

I worked full time, often more than one job, while raising my children and continuing my education. I was determined to build a life that could offer more stability, more opportunity, and more possibility than what was immediately in front of me.

What I built through it

My professional path began in healthcare. I became a certified clinical medical assistant and entered the field determined to create a better life for my family. Over time, that path expanded into education, leadership, entrepreneurship, and founder-led systems design.

Chapter 03

What stayed true

Some seasons build you. Some seasons cost you. Sometimes you gain people along the way, and sometimes you lose them. What remained true for me was purpose: to build something meaningful, useful, and rooted in service.

Lived Experience

I was building a future while raising a family, working full time, and refusing to let my circumstances define the rest of my life.

I worked full time, often more than one job, while continuing my education, raising my children, and trying to build a life that could offer more stability, more opportunity, and more possibility than what was immediately in front of me.

My story also includes caregiving, responsibility, and the deeper kind of resilience that comes from carrying more than one role at once. As a mother, including to a son with cerebral palsy, I learned early that perseverance is not abstract. It is practical, daily, and often quiet.

Family was never separate from the dream. It was the reason for it.

Family has always been at the center of the story. My children were my reason for building, and that purpose still shapes the work I do today.
One-on-one coaching and mentoring
What began as lived perseverance eventually grew into mentorship, guidance, leadership, and support for others moving forward.
Workforce Initiative

Real workforce advancement through education, laddering, and role-based opportunity.

This work also included workforce initiatives like supporting the successful laddering up of administrative staff into roles as certified clinical medical assistants through structured learning and opportunity pathways.

What The Brand Was Built On

The business was built from lived experience, but also from values that stayed consistent through every season.

Faith Faith gave me room to believe there was more ahead, even in seasons when the next step was not yet visible.
Perseverance I kept building, learning, and moving forward because some seasons require endurance before they reveal meaning.
Purpose Everything I built stayed connected to the hope that learning, support, and structure could help people move forward too.

A Personal Milestone

One of my greatest joys has been watching the seeds of perseverance become legacy.

At the heart of everything I built was family. My children were never separate from the dream. They were the reason for it.

Today, all of my children are grown, I am blessed with grandchildren, and one of my proudest moments has been watching my youngest earn a full scholarship to New York Law School. That moment represents more than achievement. It reflects what vision, sacrifice, and persistence can become when carried long enough to turn into legacy.

This season of my life feels deeply meaningful to me. It is not a season of letting go of the dream. It is a season of seeing what it grew into.

What I Learned

The journey taught me more than how to survive. It taught me what matters, what lasts, and what kind of work is worth building.

These are some of the lessons that stayed with me and continue to shape the way I lead, serve, and build today.

Some of the most meaningful strength is quiet. It lives in showing up again, carrying responsibility, and continuing to build even when no one fully sees the weight of what you are holding.
Learning should lead to movement. It should not just inform people. It should help them gain confidence, move forward, and see new possibility in front of them.
Sometimes the road includes loss as well as growth. Sometimes you gain people along the way, and sometimes you lose them. That reality deepened my understanding of compassion, clarity, and what it means to build work that truly serves others.
Community Impact & Expansion

The work continues to expand through digital teaching, community impact, and a growing vision for land-based learning.

This stage of the journey reflects how the mission is continuing to grow—through digital education, community-centered initiatives, and work that connects learning, sustainability, and practical opportunity.

That includes a grant-supported distance learning initiative teaching small-space and mushroom farming to new growers in Atlanta—designed to help address food access, sustainability, and real-world self-sufficiency.

It also reflects where I am headed personally: continuing to build online, teach through digital platforms, travel, and expand into natural food, agriculture, and land-based learning, with plans to purchase a farm and grow this vision further.
