Lesson Title: You’re Done – What’s Next?

Harvesting is only the beginning! What you do after harvesting determines whether your food is enjoyed right away, stored for later, or shared with others.

Storage Tips:

  • Short-Term: Refrigeration, cool dark spaces, or breathable bags for greens and root crops.

  • Long-Term: Freezing, drying, canning, or pickling to extend shelf life.

  • Food Safety: Wash hands and use clean containers when storing or preserving produce.

Sharing Options:

  • Give surplus to neighbors or family.

  • Donate to food pantries or free community fridges.

  • Share through garden clubs or CSA groups.

Enjoyment:

  • Cook fresh meals with your harvest.

  • Explore recipes that use your produce in culturally familiar ways.
